by far the biggest waste in life are cognitive distortions. Cognitive distortions are all extreme negative thoughts that bring bad feelings as well as longer periods of depression or severe negative moods sooner or later. You simply can’t live a positive life with a negative mind. By having too many cognitive distortions, you’re trapped in living a zombie life, seeing the world as very dark and full of terror. What a waste.

The good news is that you can get rid of cognitive distortions and live a fuller and happier life. Without cognitive distortions, you can be much more positive, lean, agile and with a greater capacity to love yourself and the world around you.

As a qualified and experienced Therapist, I help individuals manage and overcome a wide range of long standing issues and improve their quality of life.

Hypnotherapy focusses predominantly on the subconscious part of the brain. The subconscious cannot distinguish between a good habit and a bad habit; as such, we need to persuade the subconscious to change its behavioural patterns in order to overcome unwanted behaviours. Usually, unwanted behaviours are programmed into the subconscious from past experiences. In order to alter these behaviours, we need to discover the initial cause of them, and subsequently reprogram the subconscious.

A good example of an often unwanted, subconscious behaviour is smoking. A significant amount of smokers want to stop smoking, but find it extremely difficult. The underlying cause behind this difficulty is because smoking is a subconscious habit. When a smoker has their first ever cigarette it's unlikely they find it enjoyable, however they carry on practising until they become very proficient. Once you become a regular smoker, you no longer smoke at a conscious level; it has become a subconscious action. The conscious mind is no longer in control and so stopping smoking becomes extremely difficult, as the subconscious will continue the habit. Hypnotherapy has the ability to reprogram the subconscious so that smoking no longer occurs at that level. This can allow the conscious mind to regain control of the habit, and consequently stopping smoking can become far easier.

Putting somebody into hypnotic trance is relatively easy - for example, there are many YouTube videos in which this is explained and demonstrated. However, what you do when a person is in hypnosis is of paramount concern. Hypnotherapy should be a pleasant experience; you should leave the practice feeling relaxed, happy and comfortable, knowing that your therapy is what you want and that somebody is actually facilitating your road to recovery.

The practice is entirely focussed on the needs of the individual undergoing treatment. I tailor each therapy session to suit the individual needs and requirements of every client undergoing treatment. As such, clients experience the highest quality of care possible, enabling enjoyable, relaxing, and successful treatment.

Any therapy requires that

the client be committed to

change, with hypnotherapy being no different. In order to be effective, hypnotherapy requires complete

commitment from the individual to undertake that change.

It is important to stress that you must be completely committed to giving up the unwanted behaviour in order for the therapy to work. If you are not completely willing to change this behaviour, then hypnotherapy is much less likely to work. I include a free consultation (see below), which gives you an opportunity to ask any questions or discuss any concerns you may have, and also allows me to assess whether your level of commitment is high enough for hypnotherapy to be effective for you. I have not yet had anybody at this stage who I have declined through lack of commitment and, as such, have a 100% success rate.
